INFORMATION COLLECTED AND PROCESSED IN CONNECTION WITH PEARSON’S STUDENT RESEARCH PANEL

("Pearson") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to personal information that Pearson may collect or process for parents seeking to have their child(ren) (“Applicant”) participate in the Pearson Student Research Panel in the United States as described on this website ("Research Panel"). Pearson seeks Applicants from the United States only. Applicants selected to participant on a Research Panel will be required to provide additional information about the child(ren) at the time of selection and Applicants will be requested to authorize the use of such information through consent forms.

Purpose of Collecting Personal Information. Pearson collects personal information from parents of children applying to be involved in the Research Panel (a) to enable Pearson to evaluate the Applicant’s qualifications for participating in the Research Panel, and (b) to communicate with Applicants about specific research activities, online surveys, and discussion groups available as part of the Research Panel. Providing personal information is voluntary but necessary if the Applicant wishes to apply for and participate in the Research Panel. Pearson may use the information you provide to contact you related to your application, or with regard to other opportunities for participation in the Research Panel. Personal Information Collected. The personal data that Pearson collects or receives in connection with applications for the Research Panel may include Applicant name, Applicant e-mail addresses, Applicant phone numbers, Applicant’s child birth year and month, child grade level, and referral information.

Protection of Personal Information. Pearson uses reasonable precautions to protect personal information from unauthorized use, access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Applicants selected to participant on a Research Panel will be required to provide additional information about the child(ren) at the time of selection and Applicants will be requested to authorize the use of such information through consent forms.

Other Disclosure or Transfer of Information. We may disclose personally identifiable information to third parties (a) in response to a subpoena, court order, or legal process, to the extent permitted or required by law; (b) to address violations of law, and/or to protect your security or the security of other persons, consistent with applicable law; (c) to organizations who are working as contractors or agents of Pearson and who are committed or obliged to protect your privacy in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy. By applying to participate in the Research Panel you give your consent for your personal information to be transmitted in the situations outlined above.

Information from Children. This site is intended to be used by Parents to register their child(ren) for consideration for a research project. This site is not intended to be used by children under the age of 18. In the event you register your child through this site, you will be notified before any personal information is collected directly from child. In the event children submit information to Pearson through this site, we will do our best to notify the parent or guardian that their child has submitted a request for application. Notification will include the exact nature and intended use of the information we are collecting, as well as the opportunity for the parent or guardian to prevent the use of the information and the child's participation in the Research Panel.

Information Received from Internet Service Providers Through This Web Site. This Web site receives information that is automatically generated by a user's Internet service provider (ISP). This information may include the IP address (a number automatically assigned to a computer by the ISP); the associated URLs; domain types; the browser type used to access our site; the country, state, and telephone area code; the location of the ISP's servers; the pages of our site that the user views during the visit; any search terms entered on this site; and the user's Web site address and e-mail address. This information may be collected for system administration purposes, to gather broad demographic information, and to monitor the level of activity on the site. Pearson does not link IP addresses to personally identifiable information; however, we reserve the right to link IP addresses and other information supplied by the ISP to personally identifiable information in order to protect the integrity of our system and for security purposes.
