Have you ever taught students new vocabulary one day only to discover they don’t remember it the next? Maybe you’ve had students who do well on a vocabulary quiz and then can’t use it just a few days later. In this session we’ll look briefly at research says helps students remember new words and then we’ll explore a number of ways that we can introduce new words so students will not only remember what they mean but also be able to use those words when they speak or write.
