MCP “Plaid” Phonics’ team of original authors, led by Harvard professor Clarence E. Elwell, Ph.D., researched, field-tested, and developed the program based on classroom success. Through its history and today, researchers, consultants, editors, and teacher advisors continue working to ensure that the program reflects the most current research, and incorporates the best practices for teaching phonemic awareness and phonics.
