Research and Validity

The Prentice Hall Writing Coach team worked with the Market Research staff to create and implement a comprehensive schedule of teacher and student focus groups, prototype tests, online surveys, and needs assessments.

The key findings of the research were that:

  • Teachers had a high interest in a digital product but still have limitations in access to technology
  • Teachers want materials that are highly motivating and engaging
  • Teachers are concerned with having materials that meet the needs of multiple student populations and ability levels, including ELL students
  • Teachers want a program that is flexible and easy to use
