Sharon Vaughn
Sharon Vaughn is the H. E. Hartfelder/The Southland Corporation Regents Professor at the University of Texas and also on the board of directors of the Vaughn Gross Center for Reading and Language Arts at the University of Texas (VGCRLA). She leads more than fi ve major initiatives, including the Three-Tier Reading Research Project, a bilingual-biliteracy (English/Spanish) intervention research study, a vocabulary and comprehension teacher quality study, and a large-scale, multiple-site response to intervention research study. She is the co-developer of the Texas Reading Academies (University of Texas System/Texas Education Agency) that have been used for teacher education throughout Texas and the nation.
