Improve Reading Instruction for Diverse Learners

The Elementary Reading Academy helps teachers create a balanced, integrated instructional plan to improve reading and literacy skills in diverse elementary learners.

Pearson's Elementary Reading Academy features three discrete 7-week courses that help teachers connect proven literacy instruction and assessment strategies to the needs of a diverse elementary classroom, including:

• Design of effective literacy instruction using research-based strategies
• Assessment practices for screening and diagnosing reading challenges in diverse classrooms
• Interweaving the teaching of reading within the teaching of content

Each Professional Growth Academy course includes an Action Research Project that promotes the practical application of learning in participants’ classrooms. The action research project is client specific to address current district needs and individual teacher responsibilities.
