Introducing a new way of teaching and learning
Forward is a K-5 instructional system of services, tools and curriculum to help transform the way teaching and learning takes place. The program is built around thinking and academic success skills that teach children to think critically and develop key habits of mind for college, careers, and civic life. It provides integrated learning across reading, writing, mathematics, science and social studies, including a learning hub of select materials from Pearson’s market-leading and classroom-tested programs. Beyond the curriculum, Forward offers districts a multi-year partnership to assist with change management, through a combination of onsite and virtual training and professional development.
The instructional design encourages students to read earlier and helps them achieve a better understanding of mathematical practices. Students using Forward also receive a more robust education with an increased focus on science and civic engagement. Forward prepares students for the world of tomorrow and encourages them to be lifelong learners.
It’s all connected! Forward integrates the five core subject areas around creative thinking, critical thinking, and academic success skills. This highly integrated curriculum is one of the best ways to help students make connections, transfer knowledge, and prepare for college and careers.
Forward brings together consultative services, professional development and field support, and curriculum, progress monitoring and assessment resources together into a single, seamless offering. It’s all in one place.
Here’s what true integration looks like. Forward integrates subject areas and core skills. Research tells us it’s a powerful way to teach and learn.
