Literature: An Introduction to Fiction, Poetry, and Drama is a comprehensive textbook that provides an abundance of fine literature (52 stories, 376 poems, 11 plays) drawn from representative authors, periods, and cultures of Western and world literature to provide a wealth of literary experiences appropriate for Advanced Placement* students. The three major sections devoted to literature—fiction, poetry, and drama—proceed from basic approaches to reading/experiencing a piece of literature, to analyzing discrete elements of the genre in question, and finally to evaluation.
