This workshop makes connections to The Idea of America by Colonial Williamsburg. Each teacher receives membership to the Colonial Williamsburg online teacher community, which provides continuing classroom support, materials, primary sources, and other resources.

OUTCOMES:

By the end of the program, participants will be able to:

A Colonial Williamsburg costumed interpreter and teacher/educators work on-site in your school district to engage teachers in the living history experience for which Colonial Williamsburg is famous. The Colonial Williamsburg costumed interpreter will help teachers learn and practice dramatic techniques for using first person presentations and historical portrayals to engage students, to demonstrate American history’s relevance, and to connect students to the privileges and duties of citizenship.
