    I am pleased to nominate Joanne Serhat for the Great Teachers…Great Kids for her efforts to improve reading achievement.

    Through my association with Pearson, I have come to recognize Joanne Serhat as an outstanding educator. She uses the DRA2 as formative assessment to drive her instructional strategies. Her children have shown remarkable improvement in reading achievement due to her outstanding efforts.

    Mrs. Serhat thoroughly enjoys her work and invests a great deal of personal energy into her classroom activities. She also extends her professional learning beyond the classroom by participating in professional growth activities that make her a life-long learner.

    Mrs. Serhat touches children in a way that every parent hopes that someone will care for their child when they are at school - by helping each student become all that he/she can be!

    Paula Mulvenna is being nominated for the Great Teachers...Great Kids award because of her contribution to raising reading achievement for students!

    Paula Mulvenna leads our district in DRA testing and modeling. She works with grade level teaches from K-8th grade and High school special education form 3 different schools. Mrs. Mulvenna is working with teachers to use data driven instruction to further enhance the achievement and productivity of all students.

    Mrs. Mulvenna is a highly motivated, self-directed educator and encourages all staff and students to be the best they can be.
